The deposit has geological documentation supplied in cat. C2+C1. Total amount of resources with supplied geological documentation is 3,88 mln of m3 (over 8,5 mln of tons), on the area of ca 20 ha, at average thickness 18,7 m and maximum depth of geological recognition ca 21 m. The resources of the deposit may be significantly enlarged - both by deeper geological recognition or by widening the accepted limits of supplied geological documentation for the deposit. In the block that are supposed to be exploited at first stage, where "Geol-min" began exploitation, industrial resources, determined in the project of deposit's development, are 721,3 thousand of m3 (almost 1,6 mln of tons).
The minerals appearing in the deposit are lower trias (middle mottled sandstone) clays and mudstones, of colour from dark red to dark brawn. Clays from Gościniec deposit are of illite character with subordinate participation of loamy minerals of mixed-package structure - I/S and Ch/S but also chlorite and kaolinite. The composition is supplemented by non-loamy minerals such as quartz and hematite. This mineral represents the type that does not contain limestone (lack of calcite proven in roentgenographic photographs and clearly low participation of CaO proven in chemical analysis). It also shows high contents of Fe2O3 and increased contents of MnO. (raw material parameters).
Technological researches which were carried out show very advantageous ceramic and technological properties of the clay from Gościniec deposit. It should be taken into account that such raw material is prone to outstanding sintering at temperature 1100°C and higher . It is proved by high bending strength and compression strength of received material, minimally low absorbablility and porosity, but also freeze resistance and lack of sulfate efflorescences. Burning at temperature 950 - 1050°C enables to obtain material of porous ceramic body.
